It’s not often that I am engaged to appraise a two-owner vintage vehicle let alone an iconic American legend. This `62 Corvette was owned by the same family for over 55 years! Although the client replaced the original 327 CI 250 HP V8 with a crate 350 CI V8 in the early 1970s, he retained the factory-installed engine block and associated components. As part of my assignment, I was able to authenticate that the 327 block plus the cylinder heads, intake, carburetor, distributor, and exhaust manifolds, the transmission (Borg-Warner T-10 four-speed), the rear axle and differential (Positraction with 3.36:1 gears), and other critical assemblies were original to the car based on the cast-in and stamped-in numeric and alpha-numeric codes and part numbers. This car promised to be an excellent candidate for a comprehensive restoration!
