The owner of this nicely restored 1961 Chevrolet Corvette convertible recently engaged me. Being “on the hunt” for another vintage Corvette, he needed my appraisal in order to establish a realistic, supportable market price before listing his car for sale. This Corvette had a number of desirable options, including its original 283 cubic inch V8 with dual four-barrel carburetors rated at 270 horsepower, a Borg Warner T10 close-ratio four-speed manual transmission, a Positraction rear differential, a Wonderbar signal seeking AM radio, and an auxiliary removable hardtop. Think of Tod Stiles and Buz Murdock driving this classic “straight axle” Vette on the “Route 66” TV show!
