I was recently hired to appraise this 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible for a client who was looking to purchase it from an estate. The vehicle, which underwent a high quality body-off rotisserie restoration over 30 years ago, featured a 283 cubic inch 220 horsepower V8 engine, a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission, power steering, manual drum brakes, a heater and defroster, a Wonderbar signal seeking AM pushbutton radio, an electric windshield wiper motor, E-Z-Eye tinted glass, and a continental spare tire carrier. Although needing some cleaning, detailing, and targeted refurbishment, this was still a well restored example of perhaps the most popular vintage Chevrolet of all time.
